There isn't a best practice per se, but there are some considerations; some of which you've already thought of, such as traffic. Rectangular pools make the best use of space, but circular pools are good for pool games and relaxing and are often easier to install. They are all over 4GB and SCSI disks. You likely are seeing a situation where at least one of your used disks became unavailable. Seems the disks meet all the requirements. The only benefit is that you don’t have to add the chlorine yourself. By coming together to fight for policies that benefit the collective, we can overcome the zero-sum game mentality. Low, Medium, and Large traffic if you can. Due to its architecture, ZFS deduplication will require a large amount of RAM and plenty of disk I/O for write operations.
