Resident Evil 4: 5 Things The Remake Needs To Change ( & 5 That Should Stay The Same)

Technically, Luigi's Mansion 3 was not a first-party game when it came out since it was developed by Next Level Games. However, as the studio has been working exclusively with Nintendo for years and, in 2021, was purchased by the latter, Luigi's Mansion 3 is essentially a first-party ti

The plot of Resident Evil 4 is structured around rescuing the U.S. President's daughter, Ashley, from an evil cult in rural Spain. As a result, much of the gameplay deals in escorting Ashley through increasingly dangerous environments and rescuing her when she's inevitably captu

We only see Princess Zelda fall into a pit in the trailer, presumably descending deeper into the castle’s inner sanctum. Can’t she just climb back out, or is she stuck there until we fish her back out once the final boss is dealt with? I sincerely hope it’s the former, or Nintendo is throwing us a red herring and the true circumstances of the narrative are being cleverly hidden from view. The company has said it’s holding the true title back for Breath of the Wild 2 in fear of spoilers, and the skyward version of Link only ever being framed from the back has convinced me it is another character entir

There’s just no getting around the fact that _ Resident Evil 4 _ does not need a remake while _ Code Veronica _ desperately does. _ CV _ is by no means a bad game, but it loses much of the replay value defined by the originals. Its long length also means that the campaign doesn’t move at as brisk a p

Once again, Mario's brother finds himself exploring a spooky hotel filled with Boos and terrors waiting around every corner. While not as creepy as the GameCube classic, Luigi's Mansion 3 is creative, charming, and gorge

If someone is a fan of Wii Fit, Ring Fit Adventure has got them covered. In Ring Fit Adventure , players must defeat the bodybuilding dragon and his numerous minions by completing exercises. Movements in the game are controlled with the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC-Con, which attaches to your Joy-

Firstly, graphical overhauls are to be expected, and if M-Two is leading the development of Resident Evil 4 Remake , it is possible they may also be using the same game engine that was used in Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake , as well as other Capcom games. Though the original Resident Evil 4 is more action-packed than the smooth and precise controls offered by those two recent Resident Evil remakes, the new engine could certainly accommodate and scale it in order to ensure it can still keep up in a more action-driven environm

As Nintendo stuck very close to the original game's blueprint, this is, ultimately, still the same Super Mario RPG that has been around for decades. It looks better and comes with a few quality-of-life adjustments, but the campaign does not have much in the way of new content. Consequently, players who have completed the original version and do not feel like revisiting it might want to hold off on picking up the remake. However, this also means that Super Mario RPG has all the same positives as its ancestor, including frequently hilarious dialogue and a world that is fun to explore. While generally the same, the combat is also improved thanks to the addition of a new special combo me

For example, the mysterious Weapons Merchant in Resident Evil 4 , who happens to pop up at various intervals in Resident Evil 4 to help the player buy, sell and upgrade equipment, just seems out of place in Resident Evil's more realistic oracle. Whether the merchant and currency system will be in a Resident Evil 4 Remake will be an interesting beacon point to keep an eye on over the direction of Resident Evil 4 Rema

Back in 2002, Capcom developed a remake of the first Resident Evil game , which was led by series creator Shinji Mikami when he was still employed at Capcom. The remake was first released to the Nintendo GameCube, however, which proved to be a fatal move on Capcom's part given that most Resident Evil games were always released on a PlayStation console. Given this, most fans of Resident Evil were transitioning from the original PlayStation to the PlayStation 2, which is a key factor as to why the game had lackluster sales during its initial rele

I’ve touched on Breath of the Wild’s ending before, and how it's an almost perfect example of melancholic hopefulness. The evil is vanquished, and now Link and Zelda are tasked with forming a new life together, with rebuilding Hyrule and comprehending what’s next after hundreds of years away from home. Hyrule is both keenly familiar and an unknown quantity, with so much changing over the past century while many of its core fundamentals remain the same. Now they need to move onward and figure out what to do next, carrying all of their past losses on their shoulders while adding further responsibilities to the p

Regardless of which direction Capcom chooses in its design trajectory for a possible Resident Evil 4 Remake , it will certainly have much to live up to, given Resident Evil 4 is considered among the best the Resident Evil series has to offer, which is no small feat. Simply re-envisioning Resident Evil 4 or upgrading its core hallmarks along the framework of Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake will not be enough. Given what Resident Evil 4 accomplished and was remembered for originally, Capcom will either need to set the bar for action gaming, set a new trajectory for survival horror, or both, depending on its chosen direct
